Launceston Castle - English Heritage

Launceston was the former capital of Cornwall and the castle, commanding the town and surrounding countryside, controlled the main entry route into the county.

Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park

Former home of the Earls of Mount Edgcumbe. Miraculously the walls of his red stone Tudor House survived a direct hit by bombs in 1941 and it was restored by the Earl in 1958.

Cotehele (National Trust) The front of Cotehele House, Cornwall

Cotehele is a National Trust-owned Tudor house with extensive garden, orchards, estate, quay and working water mill. The garden and estate walks are open daily throughout the year. The house is open daily from April to the beginning of November. The mill is open every day from mid March to the end of October.

The Edgcumbe tea-room on Cotehele Quay is open daily from 10am to 4pm. After a brisk walk enjoy a light lunch and a glass of wine or an afternoon cream tea. Your dog is also welcome.

Burrator Reservoir View of Burrator

Undisturbed Burrator is surrounded by mixed woodland which sharply contrasts with the open moor and rugged Dartmoor tors. The reservoir is popular with walkers, cyclists and horse riders due to its wealth of footpaths and bridleways. Many of the trails lead on to Dartmoor so it makes an ideal starting point for longer trips.

Launceston Town Hall and Guildhall

Launceston Town Hall was built in 1887, and completely refurbished in 2010.  The main hall is ideal for weddings, theatre productions, films, exhibitions, balls, dinners, dances, concerts, , fashion shows, private parties, fetes & fayres.   We have 18 round tables which seat up to ten, 300 comfortable red and gilt chairs, and 22 black and gilt chairs.  Trestle tables and other chairs are also available.  All hires include use of our cutlery, crockery and glasses if required. Full disabled access. Fully disabled access throughout.

Tavistock Festival (t/a Tavistock Music & Arts Festival

The company (not for profit) runs an annual Festival in the spring each year, as well as the Friends of the Festival organising a number of events to support our funds throughout the year.

The 15th Festival in 2017 again features concerts (of a wide range of musical genres), lectures, art exhibitions and workshops, literary workshops and events, theatrical and dramatic performances and an arts market in bedford Square, under the presidency of Andrew Wilson.

This year's festival starts on 18th April 2017 and events run on until 4th June 2017.
